PVC Siding Extrusion
PVC siding is used for the facades of new buildings, conversions and renovations of apartment buildings, offices and villas. 62% of all US homes already use vinyl siding due to the following 3 major benefits: no maintenance, ease of use and ease of installation.
One main and one co-extruder plasticise PVC dry-blend, the two-duct siding die forms a 2-layer flat board. The embossing roller presses the desired relief into the hot board, then it runs through the calender with 2-4 cooling rollers. Optionally, a decorative foil can also be applied here. Interchangeable post-forming calibration units give the board its final profile shape. Slotter and punch machines are used to make installation and ventilation holes. The belt haul-off and the special cut-off press are applied to achieve extrusion speeds of up to 45 m/min.
